For the past 3+ years, I’ve traveled daily across NCR with the same drivers, yet it’s *only in Gurugram* that people face constant harassment by traffic police. Multiple times and twice recently,  once near Good Earth City Centre and another red light turn near Gurgaon Highway, we were wrongfully stopped and accused of jumping a red light when the signal was clearly green. In the latest incident, Sushil Kumar from Sector 50 Thana stopped us mid-road, claiming we broke the law. When we insisted we followed the rules, he demanded we park, walked to his chair on the pedestrian lane, and said, "5000 ka chalan aayega." He dismissed our request to check CCTV, claiming, "There is no CCTV here, the judge will believe what I say." He accused us of not having a license without checking, saying, "Roj dekhta hu ese light jump krne wale logo ko." The picture depicted common people with noticeably strong and muscular builds—quite different from the typical physique we often see today, where many tend to have fat accumulation around the lower abdomen and relatively thin arms and legs. Given that India is now often called the diabetes capital of the world and faces numerous health challenges largely linked to dietary habits, I began to wonder: Has it always been this way? संयोग से ब्रह्मांड में , उसमें भी संयोग से समय की किसी धारा में, उसमें भी संयोग से उत्पन्न जीवन किसी एक संयोगिक घटना से एक ग्रह जिसपर संयोग से ही, किसी कालखंड में अनगिनत पशु पक्षियों में आपको मिला एक मानव जीवन जिसका मूल्य कम ही समझते हैं। यदि पौराणिक ग्रंथों की भाषा में कहा जाए तो कम से कम 84 लाख योनियों में जीवन जीने के बाद, बहुत तपस्या से दुर्लभ मानव जीवन प्राप्त होता है, मानव चेतना प्राप्त होती है। तो क्या हर चेतना को यह अधिकार नहीं होना चाहिए कि वह अपना जीवन अपने चुनावों और शर्तों पर जिए, चाहे उसके परिणाम अच्छे हों या बुरे, वे उसके अपने हों। और यदि ऐसा नहीं हो रहा है, तो वह जीवन व्यर्थ है, वह चेतना व्यर्थ जा रही है। उसे व्यर्थ करने वाला कारण और करने वाला दोनों ही इस जीवन के प्रति हिंसात्मक हैं। इतना ही नहीं, जो अपने जीवन के साथ ऐसा होने दे रहा है, वह भी स्वयं के प्रति हिंसा कर रहा है। इसलिए शायद विद्वानों ने कहा, "हिंसा सहना और करना दोनों पाप हैं।" इसीलिए जीवन को जीने का सही तरीका केवल करुणा, आदर और सम्मान है—अपने लिए भी और दूसरों के लिए भी। लेकिन यहाँ दूसरों में भी वही ज...

 सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्याः प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि।  प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रहः किं करिष्यति।।  ~ श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता, अध्याय 3, श्लोक 33 अर्थ:  ज्ञानवान व्यक्ति भी अपनी प्रकृति के अनुसार काम करता है, जीव अपने स्वभाव (अर्थात् प्रकृति) का ही अनुसरण करता है। ऐसी स्थिति में उपदेश या शासन-वाक्य (अर्थात् निग्रह), वो भी क्या काम आएगा तुम्हारे?  ज्ञानी पुरुष का केन्द्र आत्मा होगी , जो अज्ञानी पुरुष है उसका केन्द्र प्रकृति होगी । चूंकि आत्मा प्रकृति में सम्पूर्णता खोजती है, बाह्य अन्यत्र कमियों को ठीक करना चाहती है ताकि आत्मा की कमियाँ पूर्ण हो । प्रकृति की दृष्टी में ज्ञानी और अज्ञानी दोनों को ही सामन्य स्थान प्राप्त है अर्थात् जो ज्ञानी हैं वो जड़ में परिवर्तन नहीं चाहते क्योंकि उन्हें सदैव ही इस बात का भान रहता है कि प्रकृति माँ है वह स्वयं  ही परिवर्तनशील हैं परन्तु चूँकि वे स्वयं भी देहधारी  प्रकृति का हिस्सा मात्र हैं अर्थात् चेतना और जड़ के बीच के अंतर को आदरपूर्वक मान्यता देते हैं, और बाह्य की जगह आन्तरिक विकारों को ठीक करने पर ध्यान देते हैं । अहम् से उपजे ...
